have always enjoyed creating art. My passion for drawing and painting grew
as I studied toward my college degree in Graphic Design and Illustration.
I began designing hooked rugs when I was expecting my first child. My
mother-in-law, Diana O'Brien, had been unsuccessful in searching for a pattern to
hook a rug for her first grandchild. I offered to draw a rug design,
which she hooked. The rug now hangs in my daughter's room.
Once I started it was hard to stop. We decided to make the patterns
available for sale. Thus Liziana Creations was born. We
now have a shop and offer all the supplies you need for rug hooking.
Custom Designed Patterns has become another service offered by Liziana
Creations. If you have a
subject or special occasion in mind, we can prepare a design for you. If you
have a precious child's drawing you would like to immortalize in a hooked rug,
we can enlarge or shrink it and put it on a backing of your choice.
Designing is my favorite part of the business because I find it rewarding to create
personalized designs for rugs that people are excited about hooking.
